The Ready-Freebie Country Club (RFCC) began operations in Summer 2001.  RFCC Membership is exclusive and members should be treated with the utmost respect and courtesy.

Invitations for membership are allocated based on recommendations from current members to the Board of Directors.

There are 3 levels of RFCC membership:

  • Life

  • Seasonal

    • Valid from pool opening until pool closing; typically Cinco de Mayo through mid September

    • A Seasonal membership may be granted to those individuals and families that have displayed exceptional attendance at past events, but whose contribution was not as intense as hauling stone to build the aforementioned retaining walls.

    • A Seasonal membership can be revoked only under exceptional circumstances and then only by unanimous consent of the Board of Directors.

      • Assaulting a fellow member or attempting to climb the Interstate traffic information sign immediately adjacent to the RFCC are both grounds for such a revocation.

      • Public intoxication is not grounds per-se for revocation.  However, if regurgitation ensues you will almost certainly be ridiculed and your image may be placed in the photo gallery for permanent display of your shameful behavior.

    • Current Seasonal Members are:

      • All Seasonal members from 2004 have been promoted to Life members due to MULCHFEST2005.

      • The Board of Directors are seeking nominations for 2005 Seasonal memberships.

    • Opportunities for Seasonal members to advance to Life membership will be announced at regular intervals.

  • Provisional

    • Valid for a single weekend

    • Due to the many RFCC amenities, Provisional members almost always seek to become Seasonal members.

    • In order to advance from Provisional to Seasonal membership, an individual or family must (at a minimum) supply sufficient adult beverages as to accommodate ones own consumption.

      • Providing a supply of adult beverages in excess of the minimum is highly encouraged and is looked upon favorably by the Board of Directors during their deliberations for promotion of the member.

    • Generally, an individual or family becomes eligible for promotion to a Seasonal membership after two consecutive weekends of satisfactory Provisional membership.

    • Revocation of Provisional memberships is not generally necessary as they expire at the end of the weekend.

    • Current Provisional members are ever-changing.

  • Any existing member (regardless of membership level) may nominate any other person (or animal) for membership.  Self-requests for membership privileges must be made in person at the RFCC.  The Board of Directors will consider the application based upon all its' merits and will use their collective judgment in evaluating the impact of any extenuating circumstances.

    • All decisions by the Board of Directors are final

    • There is no appeals process.

  • "Zee Plane - Zee Plane"

    • Sunbathers at the RFCC will often notice significant air travel above them.  The reasons for this are many.

      • The "VOR-A" approach to Fulton County Charlie Brown Airport (FTY) has its final approach fix (FAF) at INMAN.  This is located about a quarter mile north of the RFCC (right above Beaverbrook Park actually) and is used to establish a proper landing on runway 26 (or 27).

      • If a plane appears over the RFCC traveling roughly perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pool towards the interstate, he (or she) is most likely doing either a "visual" approach or the VOR-A approach to FTY.

      • If they are flying away from the interstate, they have just taken off from FTY (probably on runway 8).

      • If you are so inclined you can listen to them on 118.5 MHz

      • Then, of course, there's the Yellow Biplane with the distinctive engine noise.  He is based out of Dekalb-Peachtree Airport and gives aerial tours of Atlanta.  Apparently, his standard "Atlanta Skyline" route takes him southward paralleling the interstate and is often easily viewable 3 or 4 times a day from the RFCC grounds.
